You’ve heard about the astounding rainfall in North Western Queensland, now see it for yourself as the water moves through the Diamantina region into Lake Eyre. Like outback poetry in motion, we’re watching an enormous body of water making its way towards Lake Eyre. Birdsville saw its first trickle in February, and we expect the peak of the flood to arrive towards the end of the month. The flood will then flow south through the Diamantina River, Goyder Lagoon, and Warburton Creek; before flowing into the top of Lake Eyre (Kati Thanda) in late March 2019.

** Update! **
Water is now flowing into Lake Eyre, and over the coming months we’re expecting LOTS more!

This is reported to be one of the best floods ever to fill Lake Eyre, so there’s no better time to book a bespoke charter experience with Air Link.
