Canberra to Dubbo Flights

Canberra might be the capital of Australia, but connecting flights between major regional hubs and the ACT can be tricky! We’ve been flying passengers into Canberra since 1971, and we’d love to show you how easy it is when flying with Airlink.

Flights between Canberra and Dubbo are flown as on-demand charters by Air Link, in whichever of our aircraft that suits your requirements. There are no curfews in either Dubbo or Canberra airports, so we can fly 24/7.

Terminal Information

Canberra airport has two options for arrivals and departures, but neither of them at at the main passenger terminal.

Flight Lounge

For the most comfortable and stylish way to arrive, we team up with our friends from Corporate Air in Canberra. Their flight lounge and FBO services provide top notch service for passengers looking for that VIP treatment. Parking is available, and their newly built lounge is the perfect place to relax before or after a flight. Van transfers take passengers from the lounge, right onto the tarmac to the aircraft for a quick departure (and less time walking!)

Gate 4

If you prefer a no-fuss entry/exit, then we have access through the General Aviation Access (Gate 4) right next to our aircraft parking bays. Simply walk through the gate, board our aircraft, and we’ll be on our way. There are no parking options at Gate 4, and it’s best to use Canberra’s Long Term Carpark and make the short walk over the road to the gate.

Availability & Aircraft

Being an International Airport, Canberra (CBR) has no restrictions on the type of aircraft we can fly in, or out. There are no curfews, and only occasional weather delays in winter due to fog (typically in the early morning hours, just after daylight).

Seasonal Weather

Canberra is nestled among the hills which form the Australian Alps, so it gets a little chilly in winter. Expect to see occasional morning fog and icing for aircraft arriving at night or in the early hours of the morning. Summer temperatures are similar to Sydney, ranging from 20-35 degrees C, with afternoon storms sweeping up from Victoria on a regular basis. Why do we mention all this? Air Link operate aircraft fully equipped to handle such weather events, with on board Weather Radar, Flight in Known Icing certification (turbine only) and Synthetic Vision (turbine only).

Fuel – 24/7

When it comes to regional air charter, the availability of fuel may impact whether we need to stop along the way, or fly direct. Canberra Airport (and Dubbo of course!) both have 24/7 fuel availability for both piston and turbine engines, allowing us to refuel prior to departure. This saves times, and gives you the maximum range possible for your flight.

Connecting Flights

Are you connecting from an international or domestic flight with the airlines, and need a transfer somewhere regional? We’ve been there, and know how to streamline the process with van transfers from your airline’s baggage pickup direct to our aircraft on the tarmac. We’ll have you back in the air and direct to your final destination in no time.
